AMERICANS fueled the opioid crisis...
You DO KNOW that they lost lawsuits because of lying about the addictiveness of their pills, right?
And if that was you or me we wouldnt just get sued. We’d be in prison.
But I know there are many here who are set in our (that includes me!) ways and still think corporations are the best thing since hemi engines.
I made a LOT of money working at corporate investment banks.
But I never lied to myself about the drug money laundering, etc. that they sis. I still stayed because it was q grwat job. It’s the choice I made.
But I was still glad to see them get caught.
Our blind allegiances to unfettered capitalism led to out of control corporations and nearly unlimited H1Bs.
They provide millions of great jobs. It’s just they’re not always right. That’s it :)
This is a multifactorial issue for sure. But I also know that lawsuits were occurring in the early 2000’s that started holding doctors criminally liable for undertreating patients pain. This coincided with a surge in CME’s and attention about pain management.
This is a must read for anyone who is trying to piece this “opioid epidemic” together. Especially, read the last paragraph.
Lawsuits, everything is always about lawsuits.
