British royal family to play a big role in Trump’s upcoming visit to the UK

President Donald Trump’s state visit to the U.K. next month will be dominated by events with Britain’s royal family, according to a new schedule released Friday by Buckingham Palace. The schedule was released just hours after British Prime Minister Theresa May announced Friday that she will resign effective June 7, just two days after the president, first lady Melania Trump and Trump’s adult children depart the U.K. The high number of events with the royal family in part reflects the fact that the president’s visit this time is his first official state visit, and Queen Elizabeth II is the head of state.

Will be praying hard for President Trump AND his security
team. There is so much hatred for him over there. I’m sure that stupid balloon will make an appearance. Jerks.

Since the Queen of England has decided to honor the President of the United States with a state dinner, any member of the Royal Family such as Meghan Markle who refuses to attend the dinner can be considered to be DIShonoring the President and his country the USA. That’s us.

If a woman is too incapacitated to attend a dinner a month after giving birth, she has important health problems, but as far as anyone knows, that’s not the case with Duchess Meghan. No one’s asking her to participate in a tennis match, only to wear a nice dress and sit down for an hour or two.

I wouldn’t trust one single member of the royal family. Is he going to have a food taster?

I was in London during President Trump's last visit there.

I saw the balloon and the crowd "protesting" around it. There were more people across the street waiting to get into Westminster Abbey.

Of course, the Ministry of Propaganda reported that throngs and throngs were protesting and the balloon was HUGE! In fact the crowd was small, and so was the balloon.

Aside from the "reporters" from the Ministry of Propaganda, London hardly noticed.

Her Majesty should tell Markle to get herself over there, greet the President and First Lady of the United States, and behave like a member of the British Royal Family.

Of course her absence is an insult. It is intended to be.

sorry, but the royal family is anachronism in the 21st century, leeches that sponge off the british taxpayer.

The royals do a lot of work for charity, and they attract big bucks in tourism for the state. Tourists love all that pomp and ceremony.

I really don’t see the fuss. The British royals are now basically marionettes on a string, like their European, Japanese and Thai counterparts and everywhere that powerless “constitutional” monarchs exist. If the UK Prime Minister, the person who truly wields the royal scepter, failed to show, that would be an insult. These royals have no power and might as well be glorified actors in a gilded Disney cage. Trump’s appearance before the royals is more as a sop to the UK than the other way around. Whereas meeting with the UK prime minister is an opportunity to talk business.

I don’t read “the blogs” so I have no idea what that means.

Doesn’t the family usually come out and let the country see what the baby looks like? Barely got a fraction of his face when they left the hospital. Haven’t they been showing royal babies for decades and decades now? What’s the problem?

The Queen does not run the UK government. She is a consitutional monarch. Her role in relation to other countries is diplomatic but not policy-making or negotiative.

The American Dutchess of Nothing will not be attending... If Beyoncé and Jayzee were in town, maternity leave would be over real fast.

She is friends with Oprah'n'Gayle and the Clooneys, so I'm very glad Trump is not going to have to put up with her or be tempted to flick her away like lint off his suit trousers. Plus, she'd be in the same space as Melania, and she wouldn't want to let herself be photographed with someone light years prettier than herself.
