Just the thought of temps around 100 with a monsoon wind makes me glad I am in Wisconsin.
The monsoon I remember during first 20 years of my life were NOT windy. It was the much needed heavy rainfall, and ALWAYS cooled the temps by 20-30 degrees. Everything turned green, new vegetation growth occurred, and the farmers became happy. I never saw earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, snowstorms, mudslides, freezing rain, etc in the western India town growing up.
I never saw snow until arriving in Iowa City to study for my master’s degree in engineering. But I was only 20 years old so the occasional -20F temps did not bother me one bit during winter. Just had to buy a good insulated parka with a hood.
