I have far less sympathy for those with self-inflicted disorders than for innocent victims. Those who become alcoholic, gamblers, over-eaters, gamers, and the like know they are making bad decisions and still choose to do it. Yes, help them, but make them pay for that help instead of taking it out of my tax dollars or my (now mandatory) insurance premiums.

Agreed. This is a fundamental problem with sharing the cost of healthcare with others. Some folks simply aren't responsible citizens.

A citizen should bear the costs of their own decisions.
