Parents, grandparents and great grandparents are at Mystic Highland Cemetery in Mystic, Iowa.
Wifes people are at Malvern Cemetery at Malvern, IA.
Malvern is in SW Iowa near Omaha. Mystic is an old coal mining town near the Missouri border. We decorate gravestones at both locations in the days before Memorial Day and spend time looking and remembering.
Sounds like a plan, Stan! :)
I miss doing that with my Ex-MIL. We still talk from time to time, but it’s not the same. :(
We had a lot of good conversations while, sprucing up the graves over Memorial Day weekend. :)
Thirteen of my extended family got together last Saturday and went to 4 cemeteries and did that. It’s a good way to share the family stories.
Mystic Highland is the only thing growing in Mystic.
I always stop at the gravestone of our late Methodist minister who passed in the late 50s.
He was from Puerto Rico. He married my folks and baptized me.
A line on his stone says ...on the wings of eagles.
My two brothers and a sister and both brothers in law were WWII veterans. My sister and her husband are buried here in Eureka in the veterans section...
Yahoo/Flickr updated their servers on Wed and now I’m locked out of photos and code for posting here. I hope to get my daughter or granddaughter over here to rectify it...
I JUST joined Flickr so I could do photos again. Grrrr!
Thanks for the Heads Up!

Glad to hear GreenEyes has been found. Everything growing nicely here
Wishing the group a happy and safe Memorial WSeekend!
Update on my garden. I have a garden plot in the Missouri river bottom In Jefferson city Mo. It is now under 4ft. of flood water! I do have my tomatoes, a couple of pepper plants and a cucumber plants in double buckets at the house.
This growing season is going to be one for the books, that’s for sure! :(
GRRRR! Wasn’t supposed to be a PM.
I know it’s a dirty word, but for the last few years, I have used Facebook to post my photos here.
You do have to remember the HTML tags to use, instead of having them built in to the share feature of Photobucket, and presumably others.
I just go to My Photos; right click & select “open image in new tab”, and then copy the URL to paste into the tag.
I might try that as I’m known as the King of Face Book.
Very strange weather here on Humboldt Bay...
BTW my granddaughter came over this afternoon and reinstalled my Flickr account
Beautiful garden
We got another inch of rain in the last 24 hours. If we could just pick up our garden patch and wring it out like a wet dishrag, maybe we could plant something!
Lovely! :)
More rain over the past week here in Central Missouri.
I cut four cattle panels into pieces for more tomato cages, and pulled another four panels off the spare panel pile to be sacrificed later today.
My tomato plants should be knee-high by now and here I am not even finished planting...
