The famous painting of Her Majesty and John Brown caused quite a stir when it was exhibited. Victoria preferred Disraeli to Gladstone as Disraeli would charm and flatter her.

When she passed away she was with her cousin the Crown Prince of Germany and reportedly died in his arms. During that period the music of both national anthems was to what we know as “God Save the King”.
