Julianna Margulies did not hold back her feelings about the moves that several states have made to outlaw abortion during an interview Thursday with Verizon Media's own BUILD Series in New York City.
"Old white men telling women what they can do with their bodies is repulsive, and it’s abhorrent,” the former star of The Good Wife said.
She cited Alabama lawmakers’ decision earlier this month to outlaw abortion even in cases of rape and incest.
“I don’t even… I can’t. Are we going back to the Middle Ages?”
Margulies, who was promoting her upcoming National Geographic mini-series The Hot Zone, said she doesn’t think the law will make it to the Supreme Court, where social conservatives want it to overturn Roe v. Wade.
“I don’t know why these men who made this law — or think they made this law, because I think it won’t go far — but think that they have the right to do that, except that there must be some sort of fear. It seems like a control thing, you know? Because it’s medieval to me.”

Golden Globe-winning actress Julianna Margulies revealed Monday night that she had to take a step back from watching the news following President Trump’s 2016 election because she would wake up in a sweat “screaming.”
“The Good Wife” star told “The Late Show’s” Stephen Colbert that one particular nightmare in 2016 made her feel like she was going insane.
“One of the things I stopped doing was I do not read the news at night, because I was waking up in the middle of the night from nightmares of just screaming,” Ms. Margulies said.
“I was in a boardroom,” she continued. “There was a long table, and it was just the guy who’s in the Oval Office right now sitting there, and I walked in, and I was screaming, screaming, don’t you care about the next [generation]?! I mean, I was going crazy at him and screaming and yelling, and that was 2016.
“I woke up in a sweat and I went, ‘Oh, my God I’ve gone insane and I have to stop reading the news at night,’” she added.
Ms. Margulies said she now sticks to The New York Times, NPR and the occasional “PBS NewsHour” to stay informed, and little else.
Ms. Margulies, who is starring in the forthcoming National Geographic miniseries “The Hot Zone,” joked earlier in the segment that the 2016 election turned her to drinking.
With that, Mr. Colbert pulled out some glasses and poured what appeared to be bourbon.
“Cheers,” Ms. Margulies said before clinking her glass. “Here’s to better times.”

Should we be so brain dead as to select a baby killing Democratic President, they have set the new standard for how we treat that person. Democrats have shown no respect, have threatened bodily harm and tried to destroy us. Well, turnabout is fair play.

Certainly an understandable sentiment, and one that I have often embraced. I learned on the playground a long time ago that if a bully insists on kicking you in the nuts, one way to stop him is to kick him in the nuts too, only harder. We have played the nice guy role for so long, and it is becoming very wearisome to be repaid with curses, spit, and violence. Its clear our opponents have no interest in engaging in civil debate. They have made that abundantly clear. They simply hate, and hate leads to irrational and pathological behavior.
Juliana, Trump has nothing to do wit states decision making. You only show yourself to be completely ignorant.
