On May 23, 1960, Israeli Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion announces to the world that Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann has been captured and will stand trial in Israel. Eichmann, the Nazi SS officer who organized Adolf Hitler’s “final solution of the Jewish question,” was seized by Israeli agents in Argentina on May 11 and smuggled to Israel nine days later

I bet he was shocked when he realized he had been apprehended after all those years. Justice at last.
I doubt he was shocked at all. It hadn’t been all that long and I imagine those hiding throughout S America and beyond were aware of efforts to nab them, especially since former Nazis were proving useful to various regimes for their military/intelligence expertise, and many we’re wired in with South American intelligence services.
In Israel up to that point, Holocaust survivors were treated with some disdain, because those who fought for Israel questioned why they didn’t resist more.
Then the Eichmann Trial revealed the truth about the Holocaust, and then they understood why resistance would have been futile.
Wow, it 15 years to find this guy.

Argentina demanded Eichmann’s return, but Israel argued that his status as an international war criminal gave it the right to proceed with a trial. On April 11, 1961, Eichmann’s trial began in Jerusalem. It was the first trial to be televised in history. Eichmann faced 15 charges, including crimes against humanity, crimes against the Jewish people, and war crimes. He claimed he was just following orders, but the judges disagreed, finding him guilty on all counts on December 15 and sentencing him to die. On May 31, 1962, he was hanged near Tel Aviv. His body was subsequently cremated and his ashes thrown into the sea.

Great story I’ve watched in several documentaries.....even a movie about his capture. All worth re-watches.
Eichmann was a real nazi.
Liberals accuse anyone of being a nazi at anyone they disagree with.
I remember that. It was on the news-thats when they actually reported news, on the two snowy channels we got.
Many may disagree but IMO that defense just might be valid for the 19 year old Private who,having been given the choice between serving in the army or the noose would have chosen the army. And then,while in the army,that same Private is given the option of obeying orders or the noose...and simple self preservation kicks in.
But when you get anywhere Eichmann's rank "I was just following orders" simply doesn't wash.
The evidence shown in the trial proved otherwise.

Reminds me what will happen to various Dems who try to outrun their treason crimes and will be ‘eichmann’d back to the USA for trial and prison time.
