But this...

I couldn't help but snicker at the horrible CBS journalist-writing.

"The president and first lady placed flags at the headstone of Frank Buckles, the last surviving World War I veteran"

No disrepect to Corporal Buckles, but if he's surviving why does he have a headstone?

[I'm sure Frank would get a kick out of that!]

How about, "...Frank Buckles, the longest surviving WWI Veteran who passed away in 2011 at the age of 110."
