A growing number of House Democrats are calling for an impeachment inquiry as the Trump administration resists cooperating with their investigations. The impeachment talk swelled this week after former White House counsel Don McGahn said he would follow the White House recommendation to defy a subpoena from the House Judiciary Committee to appear for a hearing on Tuesday. Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has long resisted impeachment and argued that Democrats should instead focus on the policy issues they campaigned on. But the pressure is growing on Pelosi and her leadership team.

Impeachment would not pass the Judiciary committee, much less on the floor of the entire House.
But Dims have to placate their base. It’s fundraising season.
My prediction is that they will vote impeachment and come up with a charge later. I expect MonsterAmash to vote with Will-i-am Hurd to join the DemoKKKrat majority.
That will guarantee a 55 seat loss in the house.

I’m not sure. I DO think they will lose the House if they do this, but we’re now facing a structural loss of 5-6 seats permanently in CA from 2016; it’s gonna be very hard to get that NM seat back; and the AZ seat is now structurally tough to get back. PA has redistricted several seats. All in all, I think structurally we lost about 12-13 seats.
