My wife was in Quincy Illinois for a funeral, meets an old friend at her hotel, there for the deconsecration of her temple, very sad.

This is like the canary in the coal mine.

The church of my parents and my youth is a shadow of what it once was.

More than a few want the state to be the opiate of the masses.

I lived in Quincy for a year. I didn’t know they had this temple. They should have had it made into a historical landmark.

How much of such situations are due to the deindustrialization of flyover country and shrinking rural and small town population, Jewish or otherwise? Only 2 1/2 years of Trump, also facing hostility from both parties, cannot in itself restore decades old tendencies of closed factories, larger scale agriculture, and lessened opportunity outside the metro areas.

I’m sure Illinois will soon have many more mosques. Piss on Islam.
