Someone help me out here. Does anyone remember Carrey really being this political before the past few years? The way I remember things he was pretty nonpolitical up until a decade or so ago when he started apparently having a midlife crisis and started adapting ‘causes’. It wasn’t until the antiviolence and vaccine thing fell through that he went on this current kick.

Basically the ultra-lib in him came out when he got to the point that nobody would go to his movies. :)

It’s the domain of washed up actors. Like Alyssa Milano he got political when he couldn’t get a movie role any more and is trying to keep his name in the news.

A lot of comedians have psychological problems. Look at John Belushi, Jonathan Winters, Freddie Prinze, Robin Williams, and Red Skelton. I think guilt over his girlfriend's death drove him over the edge, and it was a short drive, anyway.

I agree. I don’t remember him being political 20 years ago, i.e., back in the Truman Show era. He seems to have become a real psycho. Drug use and sexually transmitted diseases will affect someone’s brain.

He sold his soul to the devil for fame and fortune, and now the devil demands his due.

I think it's true for most of these Hollywood losers.

Your right, he wasn’t. His career has nose dived and like Tom Arnold he trying to find a way to stay in the public eye and be relevant but comes across as a creepy. pathetic loser instead. I just about can’t watch any of his movies any longer.

Who knew he would morph into his character from Dumb and Dumber.

Flame is fleeting. To himself, he must stay relevant.

Jim Carrey is so yesterday and he knows it.

It's Attention Seeking 101. His forte was physical comedy. Being middle-aged he can no longer pull that off, and some piece of him can't live without getting attention from the crowd. It's a sickness really.

As an aside, Canadians who come down here and deliver snooty political lectures to us are a pet peeve of mine. Samantha Bee being the worst example.

Years ago one night on Conan O’Brien’s NBC show, I saw Carrey keep saying “Christ”, wishing everyone “a Christey-Christmas” in an apparent mockery of the war on Christmas. I thought he might be a closet conservative when he did that.

He was a huge star whose career went into an incredible nose-dive. I’m guessing that’s what’s responsible for his seemingly newfound liberal social activism. Did his girlfriend accidently OD or commit suicide? I read it was a suicide. He’s probably put himself on the outs now with the pro-aborts for so accurately portraying a partial-birth abortion. Say a prayer for him, he’s a lost soul.

Usually people that think they're god like are actually devil like. That was the same problem with Muhammad.
