Does anyone remember Carrey really being this political before the past few years?

A lot of comedians have psychological problems. Look at John Belushi, Jonathan Winters, Freddie Prinze, Robin Williams, and Red Skelton. I think guilt over his girlfriend's death drove him over the edge, and it was a short drive, anyway.
