Officers arrested 177 people at the Twin Peaks shooting in 2015. Four years later, only one person has stood trial. All of the other cases have been dismissed.
Four years ago terrified diners were forced to take cover after shots rang out at a Twin Peaks restaurant in Waco.
What is now known as the deadliest biker shootout in U.S. history left nine people dead and 20 wounded.
Waco will not soon forget photos from the scene, showing bikers, some with guns blazing, crowding the restaurant.
“A great majority of them had guns, hatchets, knives and other deadly weapons with them,” McLennan County District Attorney Barry Johnson said.
Police arrested 177 bikers, but two years after the shooting Jake Carrizal, a vice president of the Dallas chapter Bandidos, would be the first and only biker to stand trial.
“I’m a Bandido. I’m looked at like a criminal,” Carrizal said.
Carrizal’s trial ended in a hung jury. Just a few months later, former District Attorney Abel Reyna dismissed more than half of the cases.
Reyna lost to District Attorney Barry Johnson in the 2018 election.
In April of this year, Johnson dismissed the remaining 24 cases, meaning no one would have to answer for the loss of those nine lives.
Johnson called the shooting a "tragic loss of life," but said there wasn’t enough evidence to prove the cases beyond a reasonable doubt, and Carrizal’s trial cost the county $1 million, plus an extra $500,000 for security and overtime.
“There were a lot of times where we thought we were going to go forward and prosecute some of these cases... Four or five of them, maybe up to nine," Johnson said. "Then the next day we would think, 'No, well we can’t really prosecute but one.'

Thankfully, police bullets sent both those scum buckets straight to hell a short while later before they had a chance to murder anyone else.
Liberals instinctively and idiotically defend black and hispanic gang members killed by law enforcement as "victims of racism" because they're non-white. I don't see the point in being the exact mirror image of that brand of stupidity because these gang members happen to be (mostly?) white.

I wouldn’t be surprised it was a police ambush, but showing up to a biker convention and not expecting trouble is idiotic. Real bikers are as violent as they get.
Naw...you wrong. I most certainly DO have a problem with the feds causing an otherwise peaceful public gathering to turn into a sh%tstorm clusterf%ck because a CI got scared, wet himself, and called in the cavalry to keep from getting his ass beat.
I dont care what gang or color people got killed. That had nothing to do with it.
Regardless of who was there, or what their past was, this gathering was a legal gathering at a public place that up until the feds incompetence, lack of ballsack and arrogance came to fruit, was peaceful.
The feds caused this to blow up, they did so knowing damn well that even if they shot every one of them bikers dead in cold blood nothing would happen.
Yeah, some of the bikers in attendance werent boy scouts, but there were bikers there with clean criminal records and dd214’s earned in combat whose grave you are pissing on while pissing down your leg in joy licking the jackboots of the feds who shot them down.
If the feds hadnt been there playing g man, no one wouldve died. Unlike the coward feds, bikers dont air beefs in public. Why did the feds run an op that had ANY risk of turning ugly in such a public place? It’s a damn wonder there werent any children there cuz they woul;dve got shot down too.

Four years later: Twin Peaks survivor hopes to change biker profiling
A Twin Peaks shooting survivor says he trying to rebuild his reputation after he was one of the bikers arrested at the Waco restaurant in 2015.
Friday marks four years since the deadly shootout at the Waco Twin Peaks.
“This was a scheduled meeting,” said Paul Landers.
Landers said he got to the restaurant early that day to set up for a meeting about biker profiling, recent biker legislation and their rights on the road. “That day was different because there were people there that never participated at all in what we do,” he said.
He said he was hanging a banner when he heard the first shots. “Some automatic fire broke out, obviously not small arms fire broke out,” he said.
Nine people were killed and at least 20 were critically injured. If you were there as a biker, chances are you were arrested by Waco Police.
Landers was one of them. “That incident happened 12:30, one o'clock. We were on the hot concrete in 97-degree weather until five that evening. People (were) looking for a restroom. It was total chaos. You don’t know what’s going on, who’s involved. Then we sat on the bus until midnight. I was in handcuff until midnight, plastic cuffs,” he said.
Landers said he spent the next 23 day in jail. He along with 177 others faced felony charges -- engaging in organized criminal activity, resulting in murder and aggravated assault.
