Don’t know about figs but I have been wanting to try mason bees for years now. Hubby used to beekeep 5 hives but we rally don’t need the honey. We do see some honey bees, mostly in the late summer. From what I have read mason bees are much better pollinators.

Somewhere I read that it only takes 3 mason bees to pollinate an entire fruit tree.

According to this piece of research, bumblebees are the best blueberry pollinators, followed by mason and other bees, then european honey bees. We use the Honeybees because its cheaper and we can control them.
