They just announced the lineup for the 32nd annual Jazz en La Costa that plays in my local town park from 15-20 July

It's a small venue with nice acoustics and open seating so if you get there 30 minutes early it's still easy to get a seat 5th row center. The nicest thing about it is that the stage is near a road that goes through the park so if you don't feel like paying 20 Euros for a ticket you can sit there and hear the music just as well as the audience can. You can't see anything but for free you can't complain. It's one of the highlights of our summer concert series and I look forward to it every year.

I got a B because the teacher had no idea what I was talking about.

Jazzmeia Horn is a Grammy nominated vocalist. Not sure I like her style but since the park is less than 5 minutes from my house I'll probably go down and give her a free listen. Same with Antonio Lizana. He's a Saxophonist with a good backup band. The only one I probably won't bother with is Jose James. He sings a blend of jazz, rap and hip hop.

2 years ago Stanley Clarke was there. I loved his solo work and his work with probably my favorite jazz fusion band ever, Return to Forever. It will be interesting to see the contrast between him and McBride.
