Arguably the greatest professional wrestler in history, the "Nature Boy" Ric Flair was hospitalized Thursday, though the urgency of his stay and reason for his upcoming procedure remain unknown at this time. Flair, 70, is a 16-time world heavyweight champion whose career has spanned parts of five decades.
TMZ initially reported Thursday that Flair was "rushed to a hospital ... after suffering a medical emergency," though that assertion was quickly refuted by a family member.

Anyone know if Black Jack Mulligan is still alive? What about Rufas R Jones or Haystax Calhoun? Amazing that I can still remember these names from when I was about six.
I think Ric Ocasek was a wrestler before he joined up with The Cars.

I don’t know about them, but Baron von Raschke is still kicking.
About 12 years ago, I was taking an afternoon flight from Charlotte to Phllly. As a frequent flier, I was comp’d to first class and already seated.
I'm sitting there, minding my business when this guy gets on the plane. Handsome, very well dressed, “blonde” hair and year ‘round tan. The flight attendants and others in the area were down right giddy. He sat in the two-fer next to me.
The guy was charming their socks off in return. I could see he was “somebody”, but who? After take off, he looked over at me and said “Hi. I'm Rick Flair”. I introduced myself and honestly asked, “You seem famous or something. What do you do?” “Oh, I'm a pro athlete”, he said.
We made small talk for the short flight. When I got to my hotel and where could get Internet, I “googled” him. “Holy cow! What a doofus I am.I was sitting next to a wrestling legend!!”
He couldn't have been nicer and I've been a fan ever since.
If you don’t know who Ric Flair is, then you should be permanently banned from posting on the Internet.
Calhoun died in 1989, Jones in 1993 and Mulligan in 2016.
Black Jack Lanza is still alive, however.
Flair is probably the second most famous wrestler of all-time with Hulk Hogan being the best known.
Ric Flair was aight.
But THIS is the greatest professional wrestler in history.
I know. I’ve wished that on myself many times too!
