Given Ann’s recent statement that she would vote for Bernie Sanders instead of Trump, I think it’s a fairly good guess that she’s quite the pothead herself.

Discussion of cannabis psychosis is being suppressed in the media. Even in emergency rooms dope is treated as coincidental: “patient suffered pneumonia, evidently contracted after he removed is clothing for a January romp in the public fountain. Blood tested positive for THC.”
Don’t ask me why I know, lets say recent events have occured and I’ve had reason to look into this.
There are three known species on cannabis,one I can’t recall. The older stoners used the C sativa variety. That’s old hat, replaced by a far more potent C indica— from the Hindu Kush. Indica has been crossed with sativa and selectively bred to contain a dangerously high level of THC.
Add to that another fact; there’s a substance in Pot that is actually beneficial—CBD.This stuff shows great potential as a treatment for pain and many psychological conditions—including schizophrenia Some have speculated that it balanced the deleterious effects of thc in the older, mellower varieties of yesteryear. It seems that as THC levels in the hybrids increased, the levels of benign, possibly neural protective CBD have decreased.
I doubt this is the whole picture, but it suggests a grim outlook.

Working from the other direction, McGuire et al (4) found that within a sample of patients admitted with acute psychosis, the morbid risk of schizophrenia was increased for the relatives of probands who had tested positive for cannabis on urinary screening. One of my ex’s was a major stoner, and developed a paranoid conviction that spirits from dead shamans were telling him the world was going to end.
The link is the neurotransmitter dopamine.
Marijuana (THC) increases dopamine - resulting in good feelings and increased appetite. That is not a problem for most people.
Having too much dopamine, or being excessively sensitive to it though, is characteristic of schizophrenia/psychosis. Most anti-psychotic medications work by suppressing dopamine.
So people who are borderline, are pushed over the border by the increase in dopamine from marijuana or THC.
This newseltter goes into the ties between schizophrenia and marijuana. It turns out that the users of weed before 18/27 are at a significantly higher risk of having brain damage that leads to schizophrenia and other mental health issues.
Hearing voices that no one else can hear is a probable tie to schizo behavior. The article quotes one study that estimates the incidence of schizophrenia would decrease by 13% if marijuana use was eliminated.
According to the medical studies discussed in this article, brain damage linked to weed use is a serious problem, especially to those who use weed before 18 when brain development is occurring.
Virtually EVERY pot user I've ever spoken to says weed is no more dangerous than alcohol use. Not one of these people would believe anything from a medical study. They used weed and they haven't killed anybody so it must be OK (which I think explains their defense of their drug use).

There are numerous studies demonstrating that marijuana causes permanent brain damage, psychosis and schizophrenia.
Wasn’t this something copied out of Reefer Madness? Are we supposed to forget all the people killed in alcohol related car crashes,or all the people killed by cancer caused by tobacco? We are supposed to swallow this shallow attempt to demonize weed?Please...
