From a southern drawl to a Boston twang, there is no shortage of accents in the United States of America. But no accent is alike - and neither is their sex appeal. Now a new survey has ranked the sexiest and least sexiest accents in America, revealing whether the country prefers the sounds of Mark Wahlberg or the Jersey Shore cast. While Texas and Boston reigned supreme, the likes of Snooki and The Situation would be sad to learn that New Jersey accents ranked almost dead last in the survey by Big 7 Travel.

Interesting.

I have lived back east for so long that I no longer know what kind of accent I have. Although I was born and raised in CA, I have had people in CA ask what kind of accent I have.

Despite the time I have spent away from the state, I can still tell the difference between regional variations of CA accents, where most people just vaguely discern some generic CA accent.

I grew up in Pittsburgh and my wife is deep south. Our oldest daughter, when she was a little punk butt, thought it was great fun to mock us by saying a word my way then my wife’s way. The she would shake her head and walk away.

I have a similar background; born and grew up in rural east Texas on my grandfathers farm. Moved about quite a bit, army, college, work, traveled internationally a lot due to work, two year expat stint in the PRC, fam and I resided in Shanghai. While there I took conversational Mandarin along with Auto people from Midwest, Canadians, Aussies, etc. they liked to tease me about my Mandarin flavored with my texas accent. All in good fun....

I don’t use the T much, maybe once a year, but I got off at Park Station to visit City Hall this past Monday. Now I remember why I only use it once a year lol.

Picked up a couple of copies of my birth certificate to join the Mayflower Society before 2020.

Our Melania looks just lovely, as always.

I am so proud that she is our First Lady.

Why are you joining the Mayflower Society before 2020? Are they changing their rules or...?

Weird thing is I grew up on Long Island and now live in New Jersey. You can count the people who live in NJ who say “Joisey” on one hand. The accent seems to only exist in some television writers mind. “Lawn Guyland” on the other hand is the accent that doesn’t die.

I think Joie Zee was always more Fort Lee to Weehawken and Hoboken to Jersey City to Newark Bayonne and out to maybe The Oranges or Passaic in the old days

Maybe parts of the Shore too

Today tunnel and bridge Jersey is hipsters who can’t afford or don’t want to spend for Manhattan

But it’s still not what I’d call inexpensive
