When a retired New York woman left her $424,000 cashier’s check at a local pizzeria, she said she felt her “world just collapsed." That is, until an unlikely hero came to save the day: the very waiter she burned with no tip and a sassy note.
After looking at a condo she hoped to buy, Karen Vinacour, her daughter and a real estate broker went to the historic Patsy’s Pizzeria in Manhattan to grab a slice of their signature brick-oven pizza — the same pizza enjoyed by the likes of Frank Sinatra, Al Pacino and even Justin Bieber. Tucked in a white envelope was a cashier’s check with the money she received from selling her last apartment. Vinacour, 79, planned to use the funds to put a down payment on what she hoped would be her brand new home.
That day, Armando Markaj, a pre-med student working his way through school, was assigned to their table. As the group enjoyed their lunch on the busy Saturday afternoon, the mother-daughter pair pointed out to Markaj that, out of all the framed photos of the owners with affluent customers on the wall, there seemed to be very few women.
“Maybe women don’t eat a lot of pizza?” Vinacour recalled Markaj replying.
Vinacour and her daughter were not amused, or pleased, with Markaj’s response.
“Well, my daughter’s kind of feisty and she didn’t like that,” Vinacour told the New York Daily News. Instead of leaving behind a decent tip, the pair left a note that read, “I guess women don’t tip either.”
Unbeknownst to Vinacour, something else was left at the table as well: her half-million-dollar Citibank check.

I wonder if this woman will learn anything from this by being shamed for being a SJW and by someone being the better person and saving their a$$. Hopefully this should be a humbling experience but I doubt this trigger liberal will change one bit.
That stump-the-chump _question_ was her out to not tip. No matter how he answered it, she wasn’t going to leave a tip.
Maybe those two crones are just the sort who AOC has in mind when she wants to soak the rich. But she better wake up that these two are dye-in-the-wool liberal Democrats who are shafting their own instead.
Those two statements appear contradictory, especially given the Patsy's waiter's kindness in the face of a bitter slight. I really like your tag line.
That would have been justice, but the public shaming these two bitches received for their actions is made even sweeter by the honesty and courtesy shown by the waiter after they screwed him over.
even though anyone can cash the check and in theory its considered the owners check when cashing it....the amount is so big taking the check and cashing it would be a felony. the amount is so large that it would be traced back to the person who took the check.. when cashed because it is over 10,000 dollars the amount of the transaction along with the identity is reported to the federal government.
It wont - and hasn't. Look at the NY Daily News story. She's mugging for pictures with the waiter and the restaurant owner...and getting her picture put on the wall of the pizzeria.
Actually throw it out with the other garbage from her table never to be seen again. That's not what I would do but I'm not from New York.

Not us women who worked our way through college waiting tables, often serving grabby, disgusting men. I tip 20% for good service, and a little more if deserved.

The article reads as if the daughter was at least equally complicit in the decision not to leave a tip. That’s the same daughter whose 79 year old mother is “struggling to secure bank financing because of a student loan she took out for her daughter years ago”. A daughter apparently well into her adulthood who is still letting her mother pay off her debt.
Sounds like a couple of classic NY Democrats. Something tells me they’re also all in favor of taxing “the rich”.
Oh really? So what do you think would have happened if the owners had lots and lots of pictures taken of them with women. Ever hear of this guy named Joe Biden. Sane men just stay away from any but the most perfunctory casual contact with women these days out of self-preservation.
He should have run it through the shredder before returning it with a note “I know you’d want to make sure it didn’t fall into the wrong hands”.

Looks like they are deadbeats, as well, with unresolved student loan debt.
As an Airman in the USAF, I augmented my subsistance pay as a bagger at the Base Commissary for tips only.
The good thing about that was Officers, commissioned and non-comm usually made sure their spouses tipped properly. It was an OPR/APR pride kind of thing. Old retirees were another thing, unless they came down from the mountains in their Winnebagos to stock up for a few months. Their favorite baggers would get $100.00 tips and with five or six cartloads they shared some with the rest of us as a team. With that experience under my belt, I always tip at least 20% and usually more than that. In my mind there is no such thing as "blowing their tip", unless they do something to prove they are liberal entitled nincompoops.
Waiting for President Warren to bail them out.
I would have returned the check wearing a MAGA hat.
