After listening to a bunch of RR’s speeches, reading about his many years in Baltimore going after criminals, and seeing and hearing Barr’s praise of him, and “getting the old band back together”, and seeing all of RR’s farewell ceremony at the DOJ, I have slid firmly into the 100% “RR is a white hat” camp.
What did RR do that shows his badness? I have seen no evidence.

I’m rewatching Barr at RR’s retirement ceremony again. Barr’s having a lot of fun and he has a lot of respect for RR.
Again, that tells me all I need to know.

As before, I’m with you LJ but thinking now it is not just wishful thinking.

There's more but those two were at hand and are a fair starting point.
There are many Q shops all over the Internet and that means we can all find sources we prefer to follow. The few times I read Cates, I had to wade through his many contemptuous snarks at the witlessness of those who do not already agree with him. Last time I read Cates, by the time I returned to the thread I was grumpy and returned the favor by snarking that he won't admit when he's wrong.
I think I should just stay off his threads - he faithfully serves Q and he's on the front lines taking flack like I'll never know, but I think he does alot of collateral damage by laying down surpressing fire like that.
In the earlier days of our threads, I and others pushed back hard on those who were lining up arguments meant to discect/destroy the Q threads one onion layer at a time. Some of those were probably innocents caught in the crossfire, who happened to be pursuing lines of thought that trolls could exploit to bring our threads down. Virtually any request I've made on the thread entails a social "cost", so I've always tried to factor in whether it's needed or not. Therefore, I am no stranger to causing collateral damage myself.
I would like to avoid the "Cates-ification" of our threads. He's enduring agression and threats out on the frontier, fighting the good fight, so maybe his verbal artillarly is key to his survival. But we're in tranquil waters compared with him, and I think we can usually afford to avoid directing the same calibre of incredulity and snark at each other's alternative theories that he does. Opposing opinions and analysis which critiques thinking seems healthy. But I felt like I "needed" to speak my views on [RR] awhile back when some Cates-ification seemed to be setting in.
We stick together, and we're gonna have one HECK of a pot-luck dinner when this is done! :)
