ATLANTA (AP) A Georgia woman is accused of fatally shooting a man who tried to leave the scene of a crash near Highway 85.
News outlets report 21-year-old Hannah Payne's lawyer argued in court Wednesday that the shooting was in self-defense. Payne's charged with murder without malice in the Tuesday death of 62-year-old Kenneth Herring.

Yup. I have no particular problems with what she did. Guy was fleeing the scene of an accident. In itself, that was likely a felony, The police obviously weren't there to do anything about it, so I'm glad someone did. I hope she walks. Given some of the description in the article, it doesn't seem likely that she was smart enough to keep her mouth shut though. As such, she'll probably end up on manslaughter charges because the professional report takers really don't like it when someone shows them how to actually do their job.

In this case, a cell phone with a camera would have been a lot more prudent.
