Hollywood has bee slow in reacting against Georgias Living Infants Fairness and Equality Act, legislation known as the heartbeat bill that prohibits most abortions in the state once doctors can detect a fetus heartbeat.
Signed into law this week, the bill now one of the nations most restrictive abortion laws was earlier heavily criticized by many In Hollywood, whose interest In the state stems from the extensive film and TV industry presence thanks to Georgias production tax credits. Avengers: Endgame and the long-running TV series The Walking Dead are among the productions that have shot in the state.
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, who beat Stacey Abrams in Georgias gubernatorial race last fall, made the bills passage one of his campaign promises. Like in other states that have attempted similar legislation, court challenges are expected. Barring any blocks, the law would take effect in January 2020.
Previously, Hollywood actors weighed in on the bill as it wound its way through the Georgia Legislature, including Alyssa Milano, who called for a boycott.
To Georgias leaders, she wrote in a Deadline guest column. You have worked hard to showcase your state and bring in filming projects that have had a multiplier impact on your states economy, but these projects are not a given. I urge you to think hard before making Georgia a state that is not welcoming of women.
[snip] Amy Schumer, Amber Tamblyn, Alec Baldwin, Don Cheadle, Rosie ODonnell, Patton Oswalt, Sarah Silverman, Essence Atkins, Uzo Aduba, Gabrielle Union, Christina Applegate, Ben Stiller, Sean Penn, David Cross, Mia Farrow, Colin Hanks and Bradley Whitford signed a letter written by Milano in opposition to the bill. They vowed to do everything in our power to move our industry to a safer state for women if H.B. 481 becomes law.

So most of them will still film there. Because if there's one thing Hollywood cares about it's making and saving money.
P.S. "Hollywood has BEE slow?"
Is that a threat or a promise?
Hopefully the later. Still waiting for them to move to Canada.
Hollywood loves itself some infanticide.
Not surprising given their pedo fetish
Safer state for women == deadly state for unborn babies
Tell me I am wrong.
Still waiting for them to move to Canada.
Don’t you mean Cuba? That is where their kind of people live and rule.
Hollywood: “The babies die or we WALK!”
So a state is not welcoming to women if they have a law such as this heartbeat law?
A state is not safe for women, if they have a heartbeat law?
Here we see the demented state of the liberal mind. The liberal mind looks at the passage of a law such as this, and decides that it is motivated by hatred and animosity.
And the hysteria of liberals, causes them to go into hyperbole mode, by saying things such as the state of Georgia is no longer safe for women.
How many of you, who favored laws such as this, consider yourselves haters of women? How many of you think an entire state is somehow a danger to women because they have such a law??
Like Raid on cockroaches! If that’s all it takes to rid of a state of Hollywood scum, I’m going to call my congressmen!
By all means do not release your movies in states who refuse to slaughter their own children, that’ll teach um.
“Hollywood Slow To React To Georgia Heartbeat Bill Signing, But Some Vow To Boycott State (tr)”
Excellent! Anything else we can do to keep you filthy bastards out of Georgia?
I bet this commentary will hit “Freeper Madness” with bid attention. However, I imagine that Hollywood wants those baby parts from those post birth abortions—infanticide. Let’s say, for example, woman has a bad liver from alcoholism. She gets pregnant and goes to full term where Planned Parenthood will induce labor and produce a perfect human being. Because that child has a perfect DNA match, they harvest the liver and send the woman with the new liver to the clinic for the transplant. With the new liver helping the diseased liver, the woman can continue to drink. If I could have thought of this, I bet it is already being done.
My deteriorating eyes: “bid” attention = big attention.
If only Hollywood stayed out of Gerogia for good, for the health of Georgia. We do not need these proselytists of soddomitics doing business there
Isn’t Georgia a place where the story of Br’er Rabbit might have originated? “Please, Hollywood, don’t boycott our State! We wouldn’t be able to survive it if y’all never came here again!”
Let’s see...I’m a teen, but if you do boycott Georgia, Hollywood Liberals, the state will be better off... Also, libs, when you visit Georgia, do you walk from Hollywood? I mean, walking is better for the planet than cars or planes!!
Great! Let me know who boycotts. It’s a two-way street.
So true....
Great - GA should ban any movies from those production companies from being shown in the state. Boycotts can go both ways.
