Brendan Bialy, the aspiring Marine who jumped into action during the Colorado school shooting, said he desperately pumped the chest of his fallen friend after they tackled one of the attackers. Despite his efforts, 18-year-old Kendrick Castillo died after throwing himself on the shooter at STEM School Highlands Ranch on Tuesday. Another heroic student, Joshua Jones, suffered two gunshot wounds during the scuffle and is recovering at home.

There seemed a brief time after 9/11 that many attitudes got corrected.
I remember my sister thought people weren’t taking ANYthing anymore after it. We had an incident in Baltimore within 6 months of 9/11 where some young woman was being seriously accosted by some guy (all this in the drunken club district) and a whole slew of people came to her defense and beat him to a pulp.
It seemed in some way people were getting their nerve back, and helping out to save others.
But then, as surely as the outspoken anti-Moslem attitudes began to shrink back again, so did the courageous selfless physical action.
Yup.
How long before some ambulance chaser sues him on behalf of the perp?
I believe that the students tackled the actual guy and disarmed him.
- He got off multiple shots on target,
- The hero refers to him as male,
- The cops stopped the other shooter without a gunfight, which, to me is more typical of a girl retreating when confronted.
Some people did something...
Words we should all live by.
In the old days one might say that the perps should be CASTRATED as punishment. But in this weird world where we now live the greater punishment might be to refuse their request for castration.
Seems like a lot of perverts are perps; and a lot of perps are pervs.
(Don’t flame me bro.)
How about a Civilian Presidential Medal of Honor no less self- sacrificing than the military one by congress. Not something for great golfers.
I’ll use a word that Dan RaTHer should never use. Courage.
That’s courage Dan.

“Let’s Roll!”
Good to see there are still heroes among us.
Agreed,
American.
Notice anything odd. The last two shootings don’t have a motive.
Good idea BUMP! : )
That’s true! Strange...They usually never waste a good crisis
If only there had been buckets of rocks in the class rooms that could have been thrown at the shooters........
