...Warren Zevon.
Miss him.
Thank you very much, HollyB. I appreciate it.
I’ve had a feeling for a long time that sunscreen is neither protective or safe for the body.
Thank you for your empathetic words. They are encouraging. Im looking to start a hobby in mosaics. Im not very talented or artistic. But, hoping it will be fulfilling to a degree.
yeah, they cannot test it on animals anymore.
This discussion is reminding me of an old “Mad Magazine” cartoon:
A very tan man, and a very light-skinned man, are sitting poolside.
Tan man: “Gee, you’re so pale, you look sick.
Light-skinned fellow: “Yes, the sight of roasting flesh always makes me nauseous.”
A few years ago I started Tai Kwon Do. I’m now a red belt. A few years ago I also started studying French with an excellent teacher. We’re now reading French classics together. When I was in college, I hated to study. It was a chore. All I wanted was the grades. When I retired and quit work, the first thing I did was enroll as a full-time freshman student. I discovered that I love to study and learn.
Systemic sunscreen would be a good thing.
Take a nice 15 minute walk in the sunshine each day. It’s a twofer.
That is seriously awesome! It really encourages me. There really is much Id like to do and nothing is stopping me except for myself.
Speaking of French Literature. My favorite book of all time is Les Miserables. No movie, nor musical can capture what that book has to offer.
Were you able to read it in French ? If so, do you think the translation is good. I read the unabridged version.
Do you have a favorite French classic? I was just now trying to pick an audiobook on librivox. I was debating between Balzac's "Father Goriot" and Hugo's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame."
I also have never used sunscreen. I dont know anyone who works outside that does.
I never get sick and at 61 years old never a hint of skin cancer."
I am the same way. I had a perma-tan on my face and lower arms for almost 50 years. I am 61 and need no medicine. Like you, washing hands was not possible a lot of time. I tell people that if germs really existed, no would live past the age of two. I am the least sick of all of my family (wife, siblings and children).
