Venezuela was the richest country in Latin America before they voted in socialism. Argentina was one of the 10 richest countries in the world in 1900 before they went down the same path. Even Chile voted in Communism in the early 1970s until Augusto Pinochet and the military saved them from themselves.

I am always amazed that so many on this forum believe that the U.S. military ranks and even most of the senior NCOs and officers will blindly follow the orders of the would-be fascist dictators. The swear to uphold the Constitution first and the lawful orders of those appointed above them. A civil war, like the last one would be a violation of the Constitution and unlike the state-centric attitudes of 1860, there is no alliance of contiguous states that are mostly uniform in their support of a single political rally point. The density of dem support is localized in many big cities and the areas near them. A 2nd civil war would be more a confederacy of city-states, surrounded by a mostly non-supportive population. City-states do not command the allegiance of the military, even in CA. They lost then and will lose again. You won’t be rounded up by the military; they will be part of putting down the rebellion.
A key point here is that if they back off, we will leave them alone. We don’t want to dominate and rule them.
If we back off, they will go nuclear and enslave us. Which is their true goal.
And that is why there can be no compromise.
There are two possible outcomes of what is happening now. The enslavement of normal people, or civil war.
If the USA goes Venezuela, the whole world is going down.
But of course! Don’t you know that political compromise means Republicans backing down and giving Democrats all they want. That is according to the media.
I think all of Central and South America would take the opportunity to come up here while we are all distracted and law and order has broken down, and move in or strip our country down to the ground.
