The current pope is part of the re=packaging of Christianity, and it is bad news because the Catholic Church had been a bastion of tradition for a couple of thousand years. Even when activists wrested control fifty years ago, the popes themselves (for the most part) clung to tradition: No abortion, divorce, homosexuality, female clergy - all clearly laid out in Scripture.
Red Frankie is doing his damnedest to change that in his last few years before his judgment.
Dems think that if they paint a cnadidate as a Christian, it will fool us and sucker people in to vote for him.
They KNOW Christian values are important and a candidate who professes Christianity stands a far better chance with mainstream America, much as they hate it and us.
