Alright, that’s it! I can’t take it anymore. The Game of Thrones hype has gone too far when the Red Cross is camping out in local churches and offering commemorative posters to its congregants for donating blood. Seriously? Come on, people. Game of Thrones isn’t even thinly veiled porn, it’s just porn. Full stop.
Stop telling me how good the story is; you sound dumber than those guys who claim to read Playboy for the articles. Just admit what everyone knows: Game of Thrones is porn and you like it. I have no idea how anyone watches this show with their significant other without complete and total embarrassment. I tried watching the first season and called it quits during a midget orgy.

I wouldn’t call it porn... titilation at best... but the last episode was about as anticlimactic as you could get. Existential threat again humanity, building since the first episode completely dispatched in the first battle it has with man south of the wall...
However, since we are on a thread where people seem very upset by some adult situations, be warned, there is some bad language in it. I had read about this series, before I started watching it, that it is loosely based on the early career of Joan Rivers. So, when she is in the small club where she starts out, you will hear bad language.
The show is so well done, I give it a pass on the language. It is actually funny, which I find is not true for most "comedies" any more. Try a couple of episodes, you might like it.

The entire plot of the books and video revolves around the fact that the evil family steals the throne since the new “king” is the spawn of the queen and her twin brother, not the son of the murdered King. They put a 2nd false son on the throne, when the 1st one is poisoned.
I cannot see by any stretch, that the George RR Martin frames that behavior as mundane.
I tried to watch this show, I found it exceedingly dull. I gave up after partially watching two episodes. The porn must have been boring, I don’t even remember it LOL.
Yes do I see your point. Maybe with all the other sex and nudity in the series, there’s just a cumulative effect. It’s all just too much.

My wife and I dumped TV in ‘97. We got Amazon Prime about 18 months ago. We’ve tried to watch some modern TV shows there (no commercials and no sense of immediacy). Most of hem sucked or drug out the narrative too much and we bailed by the second or third episode.
We liked “Suits”, but by the third season it just became a stupid soap opera. The Legal stuff became little more than background noise behind an ongoing soap opera. My wife still liked it so I watched, and it did redeem itself in later seasons. But still...
The second one we liked was Marvelous... That show is one of the best shows I’ve ever seen on TV. Simply amazing. We binge watched the first season and kept checking back for the second. We were not disappointed.
Yeah, the language. One problem I have with it is that the F bomb was not in all that common of use back then, but they presented it as if it was. But other than that, a simply amazing show.

In three of GOT last episodes there has been a total of one mention of sex.
We tried a few episodes of “The Good Place”. I know it’s fantasy, but we couldn’t “like” any of the characters - yet they are supposed to be in “heaven”. :D

How many sex scenes were there between Cersei and Jaime? Why do we need to see them? Jaime is portrayed as a good guy in the story (except for the first season), which sort of normalizes his behavior in terms of his popularity to the audience.
As I recall, four scenes in eight seasons. I guess the same question could be asked about any of the sex scenes in the show. Personally, I think all of these detracted from the story.
WRT Jaime, I believe he's being portrayed as a flawed, but basically decent man. As to whether his incestuous relationship is being portrayed on the show in such a way so that the audience will accept it as normal, we will have to disagree.
