Lori Loughlin and husband Mossimo Giannulli want to face trial in the college admissions scandal because they think it’s their best chance for redemption, a source close to them tells PEOPLE. “Lori feels like so much damage has been done publicly that the only way for her to counter it is to fight this case in court,” the source tells PEOPLE. “She feels like once all the evidence is presented, that people will understand how things happened.”

Why do I get the impression if this woman was not a celebrity she would be offered a no jail deal. We are not talking about murder here, just someone paying off a college insider to get her kid into college. Not exactly the crime of the century. Her problem is she is not from the same tribe as Jussie Smollett

I was joking about the strategy. They’ve dug a deep hole. And, unlike say OJ, here’s a case where their celebrity status is likely to hurt rather than help them. Class envy will be very powerful here.
I agree with you that their troubles are self-created and well-deserved.
Having her kids pose for fraudulent photos to gain crewing scholarships is huge. It means that even the daughters knew a scam was going on.

You betcha. I don’t think these people have any clue just how badly they’re miscalculating things. All that jury is going to see is a couple of rich Hollywood phonies who got caught gaming the system and then crying “Oh poor me!”
People hate that crap and will enjoy dropping a hammer on them. It’s simply human nature.

Thanks. Samual Jacksons interigation perfectly covers what will happen when the prosecutor questions her on the witness stand . poor lori. is she actually a blond in real life? that would be her best defense.
We had a case here that was similar. A women pushed her husband out a 20 story window. Well she could have pleaded and would have got 2 years, instead she refused and went to trial. She killed herself in prison, so that story is over.
Yeah I think that ship has sailed.

I have a feeling that the people on the jury that have kids trying to get into college either now or in the past, won’t take too kindly to Aunt Becky.
