Socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders, vying for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, has said that many of his ideas from his failed 2016 campaign have now become “mainstream.”

While some of his ideas have gained traction with some Americans, his latest policy proposal — allowing all felons to vote — is a no-go for an overwhelming majority of Americans.

The so-called “entertainment” industry will no doubt be enlisted to convince Americans that their views on the subject are wrong-headed and backwards.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think if you lined up ten-thousand felons, sitting in prison today....getting the ‘vote’ isn’t really in their top one-hundred issues. In fact, if you offered them the choice of the vote, or getting a slushy/ice cream cone once a week....they’d take the slushy over the vote.

7 in 10 jailed Felons are registered Democrats and nearly ALL were jailed by Democrats in Democrat run cities. If the Rs can't win this issue, they are as useless as I suspect.

Ex-felons who have served their entire sentence and probation? Let them vote, and restore their Second Amendment rights as well.

While in prison? HELL NO! Can you imagine the county elections where the prisons were located? County commission candidates stumping for the prison vote?

He talks about “the vote” as though it’s a God given right above everything else. It’s the one “right” which is NOT God given. It’s purely a man made process. Considering that prison is ALL ABOUT depriving somebody of liberty it’s just bizarre that he thinks we’ll buy this argument.

Terrorists, murderers, etc. deprived their victims from being able to vote ever again. Voting is a privilege and once you deprive victims of being able to exercise their vote then you lose yours.

Very simple Bernie. This guy needs to be hammered on this.
