How's it going?
Hi, Vision! How’s it going?
All is well Gina. Yard work this weekend. It’s windy. Roasted some veggies and reheating bristket. You?
Evening, folks.
Hey Viking what’s the latest? Made it through last week’s storms; lots of wind this weekend. Put a bag of grass seed down and hope a thundershower doesn’t wash it out.
Hi, Viking! I hope you’re having a good weekend.
Vision, It’s good here, too. We’ve been busy today with housework, and the weather is nice and warm, a little breeze, too.
It’s Lionel Barrymore’s birthday...141 years old...WOW. Love that guy.
He was an icon and a dynasty, no doubt about it.
Gotta go check on dinner. Connie bought a half pork loin and we're roasting half of it in an oven bag with South American seasonings.
Oh, I’m so glad to hear your Mom is doing okay for now!
My bad - the seasoning is actually from Spain. The half of the loin we had was cut into thick boneless chops, and came out perfect. I don’t know why more people don’t use roasting bags. Seals in the juices. My buddy in Manassas, VA will brine a lot of his poultry overnight in a bucket, then puts it into one of those high-end ceramic-lined smoker grills, and has some sort of expensive widget with moon probes sticking out to monitor every last cubic millimeter of meat. Too much for me. I’m old-school. I’ll smoke it, and when I stick it and the juice runs clear, it’s done. LOL
Some day try them sous vide.
LOL, thanks, Gina. Imagine a 78 year old woman who spent 42 years as a nurse - the hard way. White patent leather shoes, nursing cap, the works. Worked Peds, ICU, CCU, ER, general patient, Hospice, she saw and did it all. Even took care of me three times when I had rheumatic fever, strep AND mono, and needed a dental cyst removed. She worked the crash cart when Dad died, and overruled the doctor and called time of death. 1961 - 2003. My sister said she was in pre-op, ranting at the doc, “You tell that damn surgeon to take out enough that I won’t be back here on this table in three months! I’M NOT GOING THROUGH CHEMO!!!!!” LOL!
‘sous vide’. Heard of it, not too familiar with it...............
Oh, bless her heart! What a lady!
And, thanks for the goodnight kitty gif. I love it! :-)
