If that is all that’s left how are they going to take on the golden army?
Here’s a way
1. Go to the Iron Bank with 1 or 2 (Dragons do the still have 2? I am uncertain!). Threaten to burn it down & melt the gold into one huge slag pile if they don’t call in their loan to Cersei.
2. Again with the dragons demand a significantly bigger loan then what Cersei got & buy the golden army. Have it either go home or turn on Cersei.
Yes, they explained it in episode 2 when the key characters were gathered around the map table and discussing the battle plan. Bran and Sam explain what the Night King is after.
But we still don’t know who the Night King really was or why he turned against his creators. Maybe it’s just as simple as the fact that the Children of the Forest used dark magic to create him, but that type of magic is outside of their expertise, so it got out of control and backfired on them.
Thank goodness for the Game of Thrones wiki! (And also for the A Song of Ice and Fire wiki for the books!)
Thank you. I wasn’t sure, or slightly hoping that she would survive.
I was surprised that the Red Witch showed up, I had thought she departed the show last season. And too bad the Red Witch couldn’t have stuck around to bring her back before walking off into oblivion. But she did have a nice exit.
We saw Lady Mormont’s eyes turn blue when she got turned / resurrected by the Night King. So, she died (the second time and for good) when the Night King was killed.
I think that the Red Witch was intended to be a surprise. She has been waiting for hundreds of years for this battle, so it makes sense that she would show up for it. I’m glad she was able to show off her magic a bit. I was getting a bit concerned when she was having trouble lighting the trench on fire.
I have read that GRRM has no actual control over what the showrunners choose to do, though. So if what they are doing is against his wishes, that's too bad.
Ah, I didn’t notice her eyes turning blue for the DK’s bringing all the newly dead back to life. thanks
Not that it makes much difference now, but....
I’m I the only one who wondered why the Night King wasn’t fried to a crisp by Drogon’s dragon fire?
After all, supposedly the only way to kill a white walker is with fire or Valyrien Steel. So, why did it take a Valyrien dagger when a scorching blast from Drogon didn’t even slow him down?
Was it just to continue the drama, or did he possibly have some Targaryen blood in him? HMMMMMM???????
Do you have any ideas on Bran going into his trance and sending out the ravens was supposed to do. From what I could tell, the ravens found the night king but did little else. I understand they could have been on a reconnaissance mission, but he didn’t apparently inform Dany or Jon about locating the NK.
I have *no* idea and neither does anyone in the GOT forums.
He just sits around being weird and mystical, as far as I can tell, occasionally spouting something cryptic.
I *thought* he was gonna “warg” into the ice dragon and be useful but I guess not.
:-\
Well, they have dragons.
Otherwise, no idea.
Well supposedly Cersei has a way to kill dragons.
And what about Bronn?
I think Cersei’s plan is to have a lot more scorpions.
I just don’t see Bronn turning on Jaime and Tyrion.
I’m fairly sure that I saw Gendry standing among the survivors after the slaying of the Night King.
yay!
I like to think that Bronn will not turn on his friends — especially after they tell him what they had to go through against the army of undead. However, Bronn is a sellsword, and Jaime still owes Bronn a castle and a highborn lady to marry. Will Bronn choose friendship over Cersei’s wagon full of gold?
