This is a pretty good and balanced article. DuckDuckGo may not be perfect but I love it. For anyone who thinks you MUST use Google, this is a must-read.

I use it most, followed by StartPage, which uses Google’s results anonymously and with an immediate proxy option.

I'm actually just changing from StartPage to DuckDuckGo as my default search engine. Love them both.

I’ve been using them for over a year and I don’t miss Google at all.

I highly recommend it!
Just try it once, side by side with Google on any given search term...
I did and never went back.

Without doing a Google or Yahoo search, how do you find their webpage?

mundane searches aren’t as accurate or expansive as google but at the same time you can find things that google censors.

DuckDuckGo is my default search engine.

Every once in a while, if I feel that I am not getting all of the possible results I should, l go to Google, but 99.99% of the time it gives me exactly what I want.

An interesting read on how many apps and other things you can’t use if you really ditch Google.

Realistically, google is no longer a search engine. At best it produces only tangentially related results. It ignores search terms, only routes you to advertiser based results, ignores quote marks, etc.

It is routine that you search for a precise thing you KNOW exists 5, 6, or more times, changing what you enter and still wind up no closer.

Google 2011-2012 or so was pretty good. Now it is mostly useless.

I’ve been doing My part to help. I only use DDG now and have been for probably 8 months.

I also tell others.

Never forget that Republicans sat around on their fat azz while Google became a 90% monopoly. Big Business are real losers.

Our leaders suck. What an awful social era to grow up in with useless leaders.

There was one case not too long ago where I was doing a political search and got 57 returns on Google. So I went to the other sites and got the hundreds of thousands that I expected. What that told me was that Google was doing more than just excluding what they don’t like, but also, at least in that case, was SELECTING the results that they would permit me to see. I wish that I could remember the topic.

Pretty bad...and so I’ll typically use multiple engines for political searches now, including, of course , DDG.

Not only does DuckDuckGo protect your privacy by not tracking your data, they also don’t manipulate and censor search results to suit their political bias like Google does.

I only use Google to shop for bikinis and lingerie. Makes for a pleasant background as I surf the web.

For everything else, I use Duckduckgo.
