I don’t understand taking Jones with Lock available. Of course the Giants fans wanted Haskins because he has more “upside” and “burst” and is a “fast twitch athlete” whereas Jones is “blue collar” and a “throwback” who “carries his lunchpail to work everyday.”

No, Haskins has no footspeed and is rather statioary in the pocket. He does have a rifle arm, accurate as well. This may be politically incorrect but Haskins is the opposite of the stereotypical Black QB. I think Jones can be very good but he could have been gotten at 17 with Allen at 6 and they still could have worked a trade for the pick that got them the Georgia CB.
