Your last line triggered a memory from a movie I surreptitiously saw in my youth. Similarly I asked some millenials about a movie I vaguely remember regarding someone who, upon turning 30, had a beacon on his palm light up and he was to be terminated. All of them said ‘logans run.’

I don’t think you’ve missed much of anything, to be honest.
I kept all my old movies until I had to sell most of them off for money.
I even had the Kolchak series - I think a few survived the moves.
