I was just speaking in general terms. Even in conservative areas, the apathy in local politics is appalling. Leftists are expert at motivating their radical base, and the low hanging fruit of local, obscure elections is theirs.
We tend to know who our U.S. Representative and Senators are, but have no idea who represents our city council district, school board chair, or state education boards. The left has this down, and dominates.
The problem is, who even wants the job in the first place. Can't vote for someone who doesn't want the job.
Oh, we've had conservative city council candidates in my area. But the left overwhelms them in a poorly attended election. Most people I talk to don't even know a local election is going on.
