I worked for the City of Tampa when she was police chief. She seemed to be quite competent and was a much better than the person she replaced. She also did a great job during the 2012 RNC Convention. She was well liked and seemed to be respected by her officers.
That being said, I have little doubt she was elected as a result of identity politics because that’s what democrats do.
I left the area in 2014 so have no idea what went on after that.
She is confusing diversity with perversity.
So she likes a little box lunch. Who doesn’t?

She entered into a civil union with current Bradenton Police Department chief Melanie Jean Bevan in 2002 in Vermont and they adopted two sons. Bevan formally filed for divorce in July 2018. Castor has been in a relationship with Democratic political analyst Ana Marie Cruz.
Anyone who makes who they want to sleep with a core feature of their campaign isn’t qualified to be dog catcher.
This is one more example of the fact that local politics is ripe for the picking for the left, having very low participation by the overwhelming conservative population in the area. All they have to do is energize their base.
Shame on us.

I’ve never found Tampa particularly conservative. It’s full of transplants and low info types in addition to the POCers.
