Nobody who does pregnancy support work, stops at the point of birth. Why wouldn't you know this?

I'd say probably because it makes it easier to play the holier-than-thou card or rationalize attacks against Prolife people. The pro-abortion side always lays the same accusation yet for some reason never seems to acknowledge that the care of a child SHOULD be the responsibility of those who recklessly conceive the human being. Nevertheless, there are miles long waiting lists of couples who would gladly adopt the child and lovingly provide all he/she needs. Such an argument is a COP-OUT and it's embarrassing that a so-called Conservative would make it!

I recently heard some pro-abortion person toss out that same argument, that pro-life people were no good because they didn't want to support the (inconvenient, unwanted) baby, sure, what about the two people who CONCEIVED the child stepping up and taking care of it?

So when did this sea change take place in our culture, when babies stopped being seen as a blessing from heaven and instead became a wart or hangnail to be clipped off?

I recently went through some old (microfilm) local newspapers from the early 1960s. What an eye-opener into our culture then. Look at the ads, the stories. All the celebrations of weddings, of young couples, marital advice, birth announcements, baby pictures, baby clothes...
