For paywalls, outline.com sometimes works, and you don’t need to install anything. I’m not so sure I would trust plugins like these without reviewing the code. But outline.com runs on outline’s server, not your computer.

Can that paywall killer get you into members only sites such as Ancestry.com or is it just for MSM sites, and how does it know the difference?

Using “Paywall Killer” is a bit confusing. For a WSJ article this morning, it killed their cookies, then redirected me to the WSJ Twitter feed which yielded nothing.
I tried it a second time, then clicked on the third (of three) hits in Twitter and it did open the WSJ page. Hallelujah! I used the “Reader” button in Safari to kill all the crap on the page and I got to a clean page of text only.
Is that normal behavior / operation? i.e., to redirect to Twitter or some other page?
