Florida drivers got to see a disturbing case of road rage this week.
According to a police report from the Charlotte County Sheriffs Office, two detectives in an unmarked car were driving toward Englewood, south of Sarasota, in slow moving traffic. Suddenly, they came upon four men outside their cars in some sort of confrontation.
The report says the detectives hit the emergency lights and parked behind one of the vehicles. As they got out of their their car, three men pointed at a man later identified as Michael Cittadino, yelling, Hes got a machete!
The suspect, who was moving in an aggressive manner and clenching his fists, was given several commands to stand down, but refused. A detective then grabbed Cittadinos wrist, and he tried to wrench it free, screaming that his back went and an ambulance was called.
While Cittadino was being treated, the victim told authorities that he tried to merge into a lane and the suspect pulled beside him, cutting him off. The victim said the suspect then got out of his car with a machete in his hand and began swinging and striking at his car, causing visible damage.
After the victim got out of his vehicle to fend off Cittadino, two of his co-workers pulled up to assist him.
During the confrontation, the drivers reported that Cittadino threw the machete back into his vehicle.

Terrible writing. Who writes these kind of articles now? He/She couldn’t even put a sentence together.
Public school indoctrination: incompetence and intentional ignorance.
Someone really needs to start a Floriduh man ping list.
Are you saying crazy people in other states don’t carry machetes in their cars?
WOW - must be nice.
Englewood is getting quieter now, you can find a parking space at Walmarts again. OK, its mostly seniors around, and sometimes its very difficult to see a smiling face. Road rage is mostly hot headed locals who seem frustrated with how other people drive when they come here for the season. Cut offs and non stop at stop signs are common. Then we have the usual senior accidents where cars literately have been found driven on top of others. Maybe I should just say, driving around here is a challenge, and tempers flare? (In season?) Our neighborhood is quiet, then again, there is more metal stored at home here than Dodge in the 1880s. You gotta be nice to your neighbors. What amazes me is that he used a machete without getting shot by the other driver.
“...he tried to wrench it free, screaming that his back went...
Huh?
That explains both Cittadino, and the reporter!/s;)
A detective then grabbed Cittadinos wrist, and he tried to wrench it free, screaming that his back went and an ambulance was called.
Aside from that one doozy of a sentence, the excerpt was essentially coherent.

We can ban machetes but then we will get overgrown by the jungle.
I took an elective (children’s literature) when getting my degree in education.....filled with young lasses aspiring to become teachers and when one was recounting a children’s story, the said, “And when she got there, do you know what she seen?” I fear (and rejoice) many of them became reporters....instead of more bad teachers.
“We can ban machetes but then we will get overgrown by the jungle.”
Simply ban jungles...
More Government can solve any problem.
Is the perp from Africa? Land of the rising machete?
Ping. If one of you wants to start a Floriduh Man ping list, please add me.
