Patton was engaging in all sorts of wrongthink. It was convenient for the powers that be that he died.

Ah yes, Patton!
And a long list list following him; God know how many preceded him!

But not necessary to kill him. Nothing prevented Eisenhower or Truman from relieving him of his command. Truman fired MacArthur a few years later; firing Patton wouldn't have caused him any concerns. Especially if Eisenhower and Marshall were in support of it.

Especially if Eisenhower and Marshall were in support of it. ........................ Omar and Monty too..... But there must be conspiracy to make it more exciting. Roosevelt, Wallace and Morgenthau had to placate Stalin, and remove any antagonist that would upset the power cart of the post war divided Europe. Ehhh.

My dad said Patton was right when he said we should re-arm the Germans and join them to push from the west into Russia while MacArthur pushed from the east...Patton and MacArthur would shake hands in Moscow...

Is this reopening an old rumor or justifying it?

I seem to remember hearing something a while back that one of the main reasons we ‘annihilated’ Japan was to keep the Russians out as they were getting ready to invade and we didn’t want another Europe type dividing the spoils.

Of course, since the victors write the History books that theory may have been established as giving Japan a ‘we saved you from Russian domination’....

Maybe that is where the phrase ‘We must destroy your village to save it’ was originated...<: <: <:

Patton died of injuries received from a simple automobile accident. These conspiracy theories are all nonsense with authors cashing in on Patton’s legend.

Good soldiers always love commanders who are fire-breathing sons of bitches; they tend to get their soldiers home alive. I had the pleasure of working for a few of those, but GEN Wayne Downing was among the very best. He went from 2LT to General (four stars) almost entirely within the Special Ops community - Ranger platoon leader to Commander of SOCOM. Not a big guy, but one seriously intense SOB.

Why do I mention Gen. Downing? He was one of four adults in the US to die of bacterial meningitis in 2007 and there were a lot of flag officers who hated his guts.

Patton was rather unstoppable. He had already rearmed the Herman Goering Division. It seemed that he really could have "started a war with the Bolsheviks, and make them look like they started it". He could do just that in or out of uniform.

I think, in truth, that Patton knew where to draw the line. Perhaps those who ranked him did not know that for sure. He scared the crap out of them, making them desperate.

If the Russian’s had occupied Hokkaido. There would have been a Socialist Republic of Northern Japan -SRNJ or a Socialist Republic of Hokkaido - SRH. Korea would have been all communist. Maybe SRNJ (SRH) merged together with a communist Korea. (This time the Koreans dominate!)

In short a different North Pacific if not a very different Pacific from what we have now.

I’ll take what we have now!

Patton should not have accepted the job of Military Governor of Bavaria. He was the wrong person with the wrong temperament for the job.

He died due to the accident, nothing more.

Patton’s voice was not anywhere as impressive as Scott’s. Patton’s voice was actually kind of squeaky.

Sometimes our best leaders Divinely are sent in forms that appear deeply flawed by our skewed standards.

Our perceptual filters have been warped by the Fake Media and childhood public indoctrination

Hence, General Patton and President Trump.
