A 24-year-old man arrested Friday morning and accused of randomly throwing or pushing a 5-year-old boy from a third-floor balcony at the Mall of America has had other violent incidents at the Bloomington shopping center, court records show.
The man, identified by police as Emmanuel Deshawn Aranda, was accused in July 2015 of throwing things off the upper level of the mall to the lower level. He also refused to give his name to police and resisted arrest.
I can't confirm if this is true.

Yes, both parents were at the hospital. The child is expected to survive, but they say he has a long road ahead of him to get well enough to lead a reasonably normal life.

And since he’d been banned from entering the Mall, were were the security people to see that he stayed out? The answer is, that in today’s world, we are on our own insofar as personal protection is concerned.
Malls are going to become a thing of the past for security and other reasons. We have a number of them within driving distance, and I don’t think I’ve been to a single one of them in the past 15 years.
