"These past years of struggle have changed Tiger for the better"

_____________

They have changed him for the better. Good for him.

It took him long enough to grow up. Most people never get those chances.

When everything settles down over this excellent Masters win for him, he will still be an aloof, pretentious fellow to the general public.

But as was said earlier by FReeper Boardwalk, " Definitely this is Tiger sober and in the zone! It is a very nice look on him!"

"As a golfer playing 60 years and as one who understands physics of golf, I can posit that Tiger won because he has slowed down his swing. I knew he would not win another major tournament again until he changed his swing. A man over 35 years age should never swing as hard as he can. The nerves are not there anymore to retain accuracy with a very fast swing." ----

So so true. When he started to listen to his body (because of injury and age), he began to become a greater golfer. He always swung much too hard off the tee.

___

"Tiger is the best golfer I have ever seen in action, in his prime he dominated the field like no other golfer did. Jack Nicklaus never had the tough competition like today’s international field. How about that Molinary dude from Italy...he lost it by hitting into the water on one hole. Otherwise he was on his way to win." ----

Molinari is and was my favorite. THAT is a gentleman and a great golfer.

If Molinari hadn’t been teamed with Woods there’s a chance that golf ball ain’t going in the water.

That's why they pair the leaders for the final round and have them tee off last on the 1st tee and finish on the classic 18th hole.

Why would they not pair the leaders together? That's where the excitement and the pressure is......

I wondered whether it is a special gum to help alleviate dry mouth.

Watching the lengthy post tournament interview (I would rather have been celebrating with my family rather than taking questions from the damn press. But that's a PGA requirement for the tournament) he was asked about the gum. He explained it was to help alleviate the hunger he was feeling.

Labyrinthos: “You don’t need a lawyer; you need to get a life.”

Guess it’s better to be an @sshole than a hypocritical @sshole. But then, I’m not the former, just a person expressing his opinion on this site about a negative personality just like thousands of other FReepers. Then there is you, being one of the few hypocrites on this site. Don’t EVER tell me what to do, hypocritical @sshole.

"No kidding, the gallery was 99% white, and every one was applauding Tiger. Proves only one thing, there is no racism ANYMORE in golf."

_______________________

LOL ....... THEN WHY WAS THE GALLERY 99% WHITE?

I watched two hours of practice and then all 18 holes. I never saw one black spectator. I'm sure there were a few, but I didn't see one.

I know Augusta has had a "poor" history but that was very odd.

What you say is very true. The competition in golf today is extraordinary. And, I am enjoying it.

By the way, Have you wondered why 18 of the top 25 money leaders on the LPGA are from the Far East. Those girls are very good .... some very beautiful swings.

At the 12th, Molinari’s shot was smack dab in the middle of the pond.

I do believe that’s one of the worst misses I’ve ever seen.

Have another drink.

The ball landed on the grass short of the sand trap and rolled down into the wet stuff.

I never saw one black spectator.

They were forced to watch from the back of the crowd...LOL!

Watching the post tournament interview with Woods, I was amazed at his ability to remember each shot he made and the reason he made it. He (as well as other tournament winners) was able to recall shots from prior tournaments and how they ended up.

When I used to golf, I had to use a counter to record the strokes on each hole....That helped keep me honest.

A very risky line and seemingly out of character for Molinari. It could have been the wind that caused the result, because the wind had just begun to gust minutes earlier.

When so much is on the line on each shot it seems it's easier to focus on what happened afterwards.

That was a real heart breaker. On one of the last holes Watson hit an iron approach shot maybe one or two grooves low on the face and the ball rolled off the back of the green. If Watson could have gotten up and down, he would have won.

According to the official WGR, it’s now Dustin, Justin, and Brooks at the top.

I actually thought Schauffele was going to win, since he (a) wasn’t playing with Tiger Woods, (b) has a habit of making birdies in bunches on the final holes of important tournaments. But this time he wasn’t a surprise come-from-behind winner.

I'll never forget Tom Watson on that day. He was my favorite golfer then.

Now Francesco Molinaro and Jim Furyk are my favorites.

Actually there are many guys out there that are very much worth rooting for. Golf is a rugged game when you are playing for loot. I respect so many of them for their game and their demeanor.

One I will never root for is Tiger Woods. We was a rich, selfish bum for waaaay too long.

I'm happy that he has grown up and overcome head and other physical problems.

But, he had his time being the arrogant fool. Most of the reason that he was supported for so long was BECAUSE HE WAS BRINGING IN MONEY FOR SO MANY OTHERS.

If he wants respect ........ go somewhere else.

Most people who were wasted jerks like he was for two decades would be dead or living under a bridge somewhere.

One thing that I noticed about Tiger after he putted out on 18 was how happy he seemed to be. In the past, after a big win, his reactions came from his intense competitive side, but yesterday, there was more joy after coming back from his injuries and his dark days. I don’t think I have ever seen him like that before.

Tiger’s long-to-mid fairway shot control is his greatest weapon. When he’s dropping his 4 and 5 iron within 10 feet to hit GIR, he’s unstoppable.

Someone up thread said he has slowed his swing, which makes sense. Most of us duffers recognize when to go to the next longer iron and pay attention to technique and mechanics rather than raw power.

Congrats Tiger from someone who never left your fan club.
