Even war movies such as The Longest Day (1962) do not consist of a single, unbroken 90 minute long battle scene.

The opener of TLD has always been considered one of the longest uninterrupted scenes ever
If we know who lives and dies (I know some, as well as major storyline things about how it ends), we should not spoil it for others.
Before Season six, I followed the online analysts pretty closely - they had right it ahead of time in great detail. This has been one of the most spied upon cinematic productions ever. All of the filming locations were under surveillance, often with some pretty expensive gear. People went through the trash constantly - even slept with the crew, to “pump them” for information.
I experienced first hand that knowing whats coming really detracted from the experience.
One thing I can say though, is that people are going to die!
The most predictable outcome is that Snow dies in the penultimate episode leaving a pregnant Khaleessi as the last surviving major character, ruling over the remains of a kingdom in which nearly all of the subjects have been killed. I hope that the writers are not that predictable.

Maybe tonight.
They usually start the season off more slowly, and 2/3 of the storyline advances occur in the last 1/3 of the season. But this season is so short, that some things might start getting wrapped up right away.
Also, the episode before the last is usually huge.
Ok - off I go to crawl under a rock for the next month or so.

we cancel it after GoT and then re-up when GoT starts back up ... in between watching GoT we watch whatever else HBO has also come up with in the mean time ... i give HBO as little money as possible, yet still enjoy the little bits of superb entertainment they occasionally come up with ...
I never watched a single episode of GOT until I binge watched the entire series during season 7. I would have waited until the series was done if I had known I would have to wait two years until the next season.
