My stepmother threw out a comics collection that, if I’d held onto it, would probably be worth a couple million today.

So sad. My brother collected every DC and Marvel comic from 1964 to 1967. He must have had a couple of footlockers full of them. He grew bored with them in his mid teens and threw the whole lot away.

The value would be ridiculous today.

I did that to my own damn self -- a big stack of "underground comix" from the late 60s- early 70s -- R. Crumb and such. Maybe not millions, but a heck of a lot more than I paid for them. I sold them in a yard sale in the late 70s towards a down payment on a house, so I guess I shouldn't complain...
