Oh, God, I was a HUGE Squier fan back then. ‘The Stroke’ came out when I was a senior in high school. A few years later, I discovered ‘The Big Beat’. That friggin’ video for ‘Rock me Tonight’ torpedoed his career and he never was able to come back from that. He was considered one of the potential heirs to Led Zep’s hard rock crown prior to that fiasco.

That is considered “music?” Good heavens, we are further along to perdition, and never realized it started that early.

>> just watched “The Dirt”

Great biographic, but fair warning for the wholesome viewer...

Quite a road to prosperity... kudos to Nikki Sixx and the perseverance of his mates.

Oh, relax... music is subjective.

Exactly, my point. I relax by not listening to that drivel.

I thought The Stroke was the worst song on the entire Don’t Say No album. The album itself could have served as Billy Squier’s greatest hits.

I can tolerate that song, but it’s never been one of my favorites. The Don’t Say No album was incredible though. My personal favorites being I Need You and Too Daze Gone. I’m a sucker for what I consider underplayed and underappreciated songs.

Music is what moves one - different strokes for different folks...at least it has a beat and you can understand the words...

"Don't Say No" was such a great album! Always preferred the opener, In The Dark or Lonely is the Night

In "Lonely..." Squier is playing a beautiful 1958 Gibson Les Paul with an exquisite flame maple sunburst finish.

Squier always had, and still does, a great collection of vintage guitars. This particular Les Paul was stolen from a recording studio in 1983 and has never been recovered. Today it would be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
