President Donald Trump weighed in Friday on the most recent controversy involving Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar, retweeting video edited to suggest that the Minnesota congresswoman was dismissive of the significance of the Sept. 11 attacks.
The video pulls a snippet of Omar’s speech last month to the Council on American-Islamic Relations in which she described the 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center as “some people did something,” as well as news footage of the hijacked planes hitting the twin towers. Trump tweeted, “WE WILL NEVER FORGET!”
Omar’s remark has drawn criticism largely from political opponents and conservatives who say the congresswoman, one of the first Muslim women to serve in Congress, offered a flippant description of the assailants and the attacks on American soil that killed nearly 3,000 people and pointed the U.S. toward war. …

Omar tweeted a quote from former President George W. Bush shortly after the attacks, when he said: ”’The people — and the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon!”
“Was Bush downplaying the terrorist attack?” Omar tweeted. “What if he was a Muslim.”
It’s hard to know if that’s how stupid she is or only his stupid she thinks her acolytes are.

I went to look at the context and you are correct. As a freeper from before 9/11, I can tell you those of us here then will never forget the two we lost: BCM, Battalion Chief John Moran, at the towers, or BKO, Barbara K Olson, on the flight that struck the Pentagon. I felt physically ill reading the disgusting full statement by Ilhan Omar.
How someone so callous could be an elected representative of Americans I cannot fathom. She brings shame to Muslim immigrant women. I’ve worked closely with two and I consider them friends. They are strong, passionate people with an intense sense of right and wrong. They love America and are thankful for the opportunities shared among all Americans.
They are not like this creature Democrats put in office.
Can anyone imagine if a Republican had described an national tragic event as “some people did something?” Pearl Harbor? Columbine? Their careers would last about 2.5 seconds after they spoke the words.
As a lifelong New Yorker, I’m sure Trump was furious. And rightly so.

Many Democrats even say we deserved 9/11. That it was our “chickens coming home to roost”. Even right after 9/11, I’ve heard them say that it’s we who should apologize to them. They have this idea that multiculturalism means we are always to blame.
Congress should pass a resolution that requires Omar to vacate her seat and have her district hold a new election. Absent that, the Democrats that run the House are accepting her insult to Americans.
