RUSH: Let’s stick with the lighthearted news, this being Open Line Friday. “Boston Globe Publishes, Then Edits Op-Ed Encouraging Waiters to Tamper With Trump Officials Food.” So it’s a dirty political trick for Trump to be thinking about sending illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities, and William Barr should not be using the word “spying” when talking about what the FBI does. That’s somehow a dirty political trick, and so is Trump sending illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities.
But the “Boston Globe Publishes [an] Op-Ed Encouraging Waiters to Tamper With Trump Officials Food — The Boston Globe found itself in hot water on Wednesday after publishing an opinion piece from a man who said he regretted ‘not [urinat]ing’ on a Neo-conservative pundits food and encouraging waiters to ‘tamper’ with the food of outgoing Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen. The article, titled ‘Keep Kirstjen Nielsen unemployed and eating Grubhub over her kitchen sink,’ was written by Luke ONeil, a former waiter and occasional writer for the Globe.
“The article now has an editors note at the top and has been stealth edited for ‘tone.’ The article originally began: ‘One of the biggest regrets of my life…'” This is this guy Luke ONeil writing. “‘One of the biggest regrets of my life is not…'” (sigh) I can’t say it. He uses the P-word for urinating, right here in the Boston Globe. “‘One of the biggest regrets of my life is not [pee]ing on Bill Kristol’s salmon. I was waiting on the disgraced neoconservative pundit and chief Iraq War cheerleader about 10 years ago at a restaurant in Cambridge and to my eternal dismay, some combination of professionalism and pusillanimity prevented me from [peeing on] his entree.
“A ramekin of blood on the side might have been the better option, come to think of it, he always did seem really thirsty for [blood].'” The Boston Globe published this crap! “ONeil originally concluded the op-ed encouraging food service employees,” that’d be waiters, for those of you in Rio Linda, “to ‘tamper’ with the food of a Trump official: ‘As for the waiters out there, Im not saying you should tamper with anyones food, as that could get you into trouble. You might lose your serving job.
“‘But youd be serving America. And you wont have any regrets years later.’ An editors note at the top of the article now reads: ‘A version of this column as originally published did not meet Globe standards and has been changed. The Globe regrets the previous tone of the piece.'” Wait a minute, now. Somebody passed on it. Somebody looked at it, some editor — at least one — and signed off on it and authorized it for publication.
What’s happening to these people? This is the Twitterification of the Democrat Party writ large. This is the kind of crap that now comprises the Democrat voting base. How else to explain the Boston Globe signing off on this and authorizing its publication, and then not taking it down but rather ” stealth edit[ing] for ‘tone.'”! You ask, “Who are these people?” Well, they’re not us. These people are sick. They are deranged, lunatic, sick — and they’re also desperate as they can be to be noticed, obviously.
What Saul Alinsky Hath Wrought.
Trump doesn’t care.
This just makes him want to do more damage to the left.
I enjoy seeing them go crazy
Seems like the Boston globe is encouraging people to commit a felony by tampering with people’s food. Someone should be dragged out of that newspaper building now.
I thought we read yesterday they pulled that op-ed. Of course after it ran. Sounds like a terroristic suggestion to me. But, it got pulled and did the paper apologize? Sort of like telling a jury to ignore the confession the defendant just made on the stand under oath.
Here Is my op-ed.
If you catch someone doing ANYTHING to your food that is irregular, beat the ever loving cr@p out of them.
This is just incredible. The paper should be shut down and the owner and editors convicted for ATTEMPTED MURDER!
Disgusting, soy-filled maggot.
Restaurant owners must be ripping their hair out. Targeted classes stay away, how is that good for business?
Especially since the favored classes (liberals) are such lousy tippers.
If you’re a hated Trump official, makes more sense to entertain at home (almost a lost art) with people you know and trust, and you don’t have to worry about eavesdroppers and hostile wait staff. Much less expensive, too.
Didn’t The Guardian run a piece a couple of days ago about assassination and presidents?
Blech! Gross!
The Boston Globe has progressed from plagiarism and
lies and sedition to a call to MURDER the POTUS.
The Boston Globe SHOULD be shut down by the
Secret Service (if it cares, which it probably does not).
taken out by the People to protect the ELECTED PRESIDENT.
It is inconceivable that a major daily paper would have employed a guy who looks like that in years past.
Such a punchable face.
Bkmk
If I’m ever working in Jackson Hole and I happen to serve Brian McGrory again he’ll find his soup to be extra tangy.
I hope he enjoys it.
He doesn’t have to suggest shit to them. They’ve been messing with their food without being asked to.
How frickin childish. Unbelievable. Well, it’s not really unbelievable coming from those people.
