A Break From Serious Discussions SciFi Series That Didn't Get a Proper Chance
Why they should have had that chance? Why they failed?
Land of the Giants. My favorite of the Irwin Allen shows.
They were starting to venture into quasi-Islamic territory, although not as much as Dune.
The character Count Iblis was named after the being of fire mentioned in the Koran who refused to bow down to Adam upon Allah’s command, thus implying that the Cylons were being led by the Mahometan version of the devil since Baltar recognized Iblis’ voice as being identical to that of the Cylon’s Imperious Leader.
Felipe Jose zFarmer has some great stuff!
Why isn’t more of it on TV
More ever! Why doesn’t the SciFi channel do SciFi?
They have wrestling (God give me strength!)on sometimes!
On most of these TV Science Fiction Shows there is no resolution.
The Shows just end a Season and they are gone.
In my era, these Shows included The Invaders, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (started serious and got silly), Lost in Space (had a serious Episode or two and got real silly) and The Tie Tunnel.
I’m sure there are more but that’s all I have for the moment.
I do wish they would have wrapped up the newer version of “V” rather than just cancelling it abruptly. One more two Hour Finale Episode would have been great.
Instead the Alien Queen ended up as Brody’s Wife on
Homeland.
Of course
They showed the way!
No way. He was on all seven seasons of DS9, lol.
My vote is for Firefly, with a #2 place to Enterprise.
Regarding Defiance, I like it but when the spaceship took off with the male lead and the alien doctor, I didn’t see how they would get back to be in the continuation of the series. To me that was its jump the shark moment and sealed the end of the show. Or they got word that they weren’t being renewed and hastily put that in the final show, similar to the botched ending to Enterprise.
Oops. The Tie Tunnel = THE TIME TUNNEL...
Mason, Mason, Mason....it was about undead reapers sending souls to the afterlife.
I’m pretty sure “reapers” are not real but make believe...i.e. “sy-fy”
I bought the 2-season remastered DVD - still fun to watch.
I was starting to get into Crusader!
I didn’t like the nanobot based disease premise but could live with it.
Anyway gone too soon!
Interesting tid-bit. I just assumed Count Iblis was the Biblical devil. Mixing religion with sci-fi is always risky. The reimagined version (my favorite series) did it in a weird way too.
Yes Time Tunnel!
One of the best opening themes ever!
Quantum Leap a pale sad copy!
I guess. Just not scifi to me.
My pick too, loved that show.
You mean Crusade? Never seen it. I should try to find it somewhere.
YouTube...52 episodes of Blake’s 7...

SyFy is not limited to make believe space adventures for children to watch.
“Limitless”, the TV series is another excellent SyFy show.
What not Voyage?
You didn’t like Seaman Kowalski or the Chief either being eaten by monsters, captured by aliens or killed every week?
Kowalski set the standard for Kenny of South Park!
Falling Skies, DS9
