SP represents an important group to us: pro-Trump individuals trapped in Blue states.
He is paying a significantly higher tax bill now, and doesn't like it. Would you?
He is also pointing out that votes in Blue states DO MATTER--especially at the level of House Districts.
He is pointing out that RAISING TAXES ON ANYBODY is NOT A REPUBLICAN IDEAL.
(Well, I sometimes think it would be GOOD if everybody paid a small tax ... then they would realize money doesn't grow on trees. But that's a slide to a different discussion.)
SP is feeling a bit beleaguered right now, as April 15th approaches ... and he doesn't cotton to the idea of having more illegals dumped in his backyard. (Would you?)
HERE IS MY TAKE: We do not want to eliminate the Blue states from America, and we do not want to write off any Americans living there--ESPECIALLY those who are on our side!
I think the discussion SP is raising is perfectly legitimate, and we should not bury our heads in the sand just because we happen to live and earn our living in a Red State.

I live in a blue state and it may even be a sancturary state, and recently the Dems took total control of the state legislature, and the governor is a stinking commie perv.

This tells you all you need to know. Anyone who’s been on our threads for as much time as the poster has would know there are MANY brilliant, thinking posters here. He revealed his real opinion.
People with intellectual integrity allow discussion and differences in opinions.

What you and SO are missing is that it’s better to concentrate all of the illegals into blue states, especially like CA which is all but lost forever, then have them tip red states blue.
I had an outlandish suspicion that the derps are intentionally driving out the natives from CA because CA is a lock up and pushing a percentage to places like Colorado tips it blue.
I lived in a fairly high tax state (WI) and took it upon myself to get the heck out to low tax Tennessee. We are all free to move about the country.

I live in Michigan, a SALT state. My tax returns came out dead even on 125k, net and 88k AGI. I’m happy because “dead even” is the way it should work.
SP is just proj3cting his personal displeasure on us in his arguments (note the scary threat of mobile illegal immigrants coming to YOUR little town).

I don’t see it burying our head in the sand to lay blue state tax issues on blue state voters. I have immense empathy for those with higher tax burdens, but I have no control of their state or local officials and Trump is not to blame. Neither are voters in red states to blame.
All local offices are important and every election matters. High tax states need to work locally to get rid of the officials creating the tax burdens and those creating the sanctuary cities.
